occlusion class 3 three III, dental teeth bite prognathic jaw skeletal underbite treatment
Cosmetic dental reconstruction for correction of a skeletal underbite – class 3 occlusion, lower jaw in front of upper jaw – and retained baby teeth. Two 14 teeth porcelain metal dental bridges were used to increase the occlusal vertical dimension and “jump” the cross bite. This patient refused orthognathic options. Treatment time – 16 days.  Actually the treatment times was only nine days but this patient was a fine young man who visited our office from outside NYC.  After he received the initial temporary crowns that demonstrated the cosmetic dentistry we planned, he went out to restaurants and nite clubs for a week before he returned for the final bridges.  Before and after pictures.  This case is now at least 20 years old.  The baby teeth in the lower anterior were removed and that helped provide the space needed to bring the lower front teeth back and the upper front teeth forward to jump the cross bite.
