Before and after photos on overjet and overbite in dental occlusion performed in our Braces Orthodontics office.
Two maxillary central incisor teeth with over jet were brought back into alignment with porcelain dental crowns. Other words used to describe the horizontal position of upper and lower teeth relative to each other is buck teeth, buck tooth, dental overjet or dental over jet.
Protruded upper front teeth with over jet were treated with dental crowns. Treatment time could be 1 day. This patient had an allergic dermatitis and could not wear teeth braces orthodontics. Dental braces would be the first conservative choice.
Smile Analysis & Face Profile. Perfect teeth photos. Only 1 mm of both overbite and overjet is considered aesthetically beautiful. Over bite – or overbite – is a vertical measure of how much the upper teeth overlap or hide the lower teeth when the teeth bite is closed – maximum intercuspation. Over jet – or overjet – is a horizontal measure of how far towards the lip the upper front teeth are relative to the lower front teeth when the teeth bite is closed – maximum intercuspation or IC position.
Over jet is the horizontal measure of how much the upper teeth project forward relative to the lower teeth. The first photo shows the patient’s natural teeth bite occlusion. The second bite shows how she would like to look – the patient moved her jaw and teeth forward in this photo to compensate for her overjet. Orthodontics dental braces or cosmetic dentistry can achieve this.
