Aesthetic dentistry for the front teeth
Before and after photos. The upper four front teeth received porcelain veneers. The lower canine (fang) was bonded from the inside. The lower front teeth were also reshaped. This took two office visits.
Aesthetic Dentistry with one dental bonding and one porcelain veneer
Treatment time: 2 visits. The patient refused orthodontic treatment. The veneer had pink porcelain around the gingival margin – gum – to hide its relative height.
Aesthetic Dentistry for a patient who only had one upper front tooth
This was a pretty 25 year old woman who visited from Ireland. The upper lateral incisor teeth had root canal therapy and posts placed. Then the lateral incisors were then prepared for a dental bridge but more tooth reduction was taken from the mesial. The mesial of both canines were reduced so that the laterals could be “distalized.” The central incisor was extracted and a bone graft was placed. To the left a temporary lab-processed dental bridge is shown in this smile photo.
This patient came from Ireland and stayed from Monday to Friday of one week. Treatment was performed in only four hours on one day with the help of an Endodontist, Oral Surgeon, Joseph Tuil Dental Lab and Cosmetic Dentist.
Subsequently a second lab-processed temporary bridge, reinforced with Ribbond, was placed before the patient’s departure. She will return from Ireland in three months for fabrication and insertion of the final porcelain dental bridge. This second visit will also occur during one week.
Aesthetic Dentistry Smile Makeover of a male model
1) & 2) Before Photos. 3) & 4) After Photos. In summary a combination of 20 all-porcelain Zirconium crowns, porcelain veneers and a lower front teeth bridge were placed. Thereby this porcelain was used to treat both the natural tooth discoloration (and yellow old crowns) and a severe bilateral, posterior cross-bite. Particularly the cross bite means the upper back teeth closed down inside the lower back teeth. Total treatment time was about four weeks. The patient wanted his new teeth to be very white.
Aesthetic Dentistry with 20 porcelain teeth veneers
Before: top photos showing discolored teeth. After: bottom smile photos showing 20 porcelain dental veneers several days later.
Aesthetic dentistry of crooked upper and lower right canine teeth
The patient declined orthodontics. Therefore the upper and lower canines were extracted and the distal of the laterals and the mesial of the first premolars were bonded to close the space.
Subsequently the second photo is one week following extraction. Dental bonding was placed before the teeth were extracted so the patient never had to show the space between her teeth. Consequently refer to other images in this series.
Aesthetic dentistry treatment of crowded upper and lower right canine teeth
Focus on the upper jaw. The patient declined braces, orthodontics. Therefore upper and lower canines were extracted and the distal of the laterals and the mesial of the first premolars were bonded to close the space.
The second photo is one week following extraction. The dental bonding was placed before the teeth were extracted so the patient never had to show the space between her teeth. Refer to other images in this series.
Aesthetic dentistry of upper and lower right canine or fang teeth
Focus on the lower jaw. The patient declined braces, orthodontics. Thus the upper and lower canines were extracted and the distal of the laterals and the mesial of the first premolar teeth received dental bonding to close the gap.
Subsequently the second photo is one week following extraction. The bonding was placed before the teeth were extracted so the patient never had to show the space between her teeth. Refer to other images in this series.
Aesthetic dentistry treatment of upper and lower right canines. The patient declined dental braces. Therefore the upper and lower canine teeth were removed by extraction and the distal of the laterals and the mesial of the first premolars received teeth bonding to close the gaps.
To the left the second image is one week following extraction. Then the teeth bonding was placed before the teeth were extracted so the patient never had to show the space between her teeth. Refer to other images in this series.
Aesthetic dentistry and oral surgery
The patient declined orthodontics. Thus the upper and lower canines were extracted and the distal of the laterals and the mesial of the first premolars were bonded to close the space.
The second photo is one week following extraction. The dental bonding was placed before the teeth were extracted so the patient never had to show the space between her teeth. Generally refer to other pictures in this series.
Aesthetic dentistry and gum surgery
Free gingival gum graft three days after surgery. The upper front central incisor tooth exhibited a lot of gum recession that bothered the patient cosmetically. 1) The gum graft is shown after being sutured in place. Thereafter these black sutures will be removed in about ten days. 2) The palate of the same patient showing the donor site for the graft.
As a rule a gingival graft typically involves removing a small amount of palatal gingiva – gum – and sewing it where it is needed.
Aesthetic dentistry with Sculpting – teeth reshaping – and dental bonding
Similar to the example above note how the incisal edges of the top and bottom teeth were reshaped and how the gap space on the upper lateral incisor was closed with bonding.
Esthetic cosmetic dentistry with Sculpting – teeth reshaping – and teeth bonding for the upper central incisors, and teeth whitening – bleaching.
Then note how the eccentric teeth shapes of the centrals were reduced and dental bonding was added to the mesio-incisal angles. Collectively, this makes the teeth appear straight.
Aesthetic dentistry with teeth reshaping – esthetic dental sculpting and dental bonding of the upper central incisors.
Particularly note how the eccentric teeth shapes of the centrals were reduced and dental bonding was added to the mesio-incisal angles.
Aesthetic dentistry to extend the length of the upper front teeth with dental bonding.
Usually there are two ways to cosmetically lengthen teeth: bonding or porcelain laminate veneers.
Generally porcelain laminate veneers are preferable due to greater strength and esthetics however they are a lot more expensive.
However some patients can get a quite satisfactory result with bonding when cost is a concern.
Aesthetic cosmetic tooth bonding to make a rotated, upper lateral incisor appear straight. 1) Pre-operative front image. 2) Pre-operative occlusal image.
Particularly note how the tooth is rotated. 3) Post-operative front image. 4) Post-operative occlusal image. Note how dental bonding was added to the mesio-palato-incisal angle of the lateral. Next the other lateral tooth will be treated.
