12 Ways to Differentiate Good from Bad Dentistry. Part 1.

This video on 12 Ways To Differentiate Good vs Bad Dentistry: Part 1 was created in our Dental Anxiety Dental Fear office.  This is a 12-Part Video Series.

Hi everybody, my name is Dr. Jeff Dorfman at The Center for Special Dentistry in New York City talking about ways people can become educated dental consumers. People who visit a dentist should become educated about how to differentiate a good from a bad dentist, and how to differentiate good from bad dentistry. One can certainly search online reviews, and learn about various claims from websites of dubious quality. People may visit a dental office and read academic degrees and membership in professional organizations that are framed on the wall. This is totally inadequate in choosing a good dentist. This article and the other versions that will come after it are an insider’s view to dentistry written by a master clinician—ME!—who has had a combined 20 years of professorships at both NYU and Columbia dental schools, as well as 30 years in clinical private practice and I am also director of advanced dental education at The Center for Special Dentistry in New York. The dentistry that I have personally seen, and the stories I have heard from many of my former students who are now in practice around the country, is both scary and sad.
