Concerns with Daily Email Deals for Dental Exams – WABC Local News
March 13, 2012 12:09 pmRob Schutz, the director of business development for KGB Deals, said “We have not been notified by the NY State Office of Professions or any other governmental agency of any improper actions regarding fee splitting..” This is true but it is not the point.
Lance Plunkett, Attorney, NY State Dental Association, has said that the illegal fee-splitting is committed by the dentist, not the online company, so companies like KGB Deals or Groupon would not receive any notification from the state.
Dentists and doctors should follow the suggestion in this news piece and contact their attorney and/or State dental or medical society before advertising on this type of website. Ignorance of the law is not a legal defense.
