MY EXPERIENCE AT CENTER FOR SPECIAL DENTISTRY

I Ruth Pallapati am currently a second year student at New York University College Of Dentistry.
I being a foreign- trained Dentist from India, moved to U.S. after my graduation. I thought of having a prior dental experience to build up my resume before applying to a Dental School. Then,later in my search for internship programs, I came across Center For Special Dentistry offering “ Advanced Dental Education Program” for internationally-trained dentist. Dr. Dorfman has a dental website which has lot of information on various dental procedures and pictures of his own patients before and after their treatment. I was excited about his work and applied for the program where I had an opportunity to observe special dentistry at his office.

Working with Dr. Dorfman gave me an awesome experience and allowed me to get more acclimatized with different treatment modalities. Every student at Center For Special Dentistry gets special attention from Dr. Dorfman . His questioning while treating the patients had provoked my thinking process. He is very patient in explaining the procedures and had taught me about how to design a treatment plan which I wasn’t aware of. After joining his practice, I had improved my communication skills and have been exposed to many specialities of dentistry and the daily operations of managing a private practice.

Dr. Dorfman who is specialized in cosmetic Dentistry has his own style and does amazing dental makeovers. I have learned different techniques from Dr. Dorfman which is now helping me in dental school. Jeff is very generous who has not only helped me to learn new things in Dentistry but also guided me through my application process and personally recommended me to NYUCD. I am very grateful to Jeff for being so kind hearted and helping me to get into NYU.

I was an Intern at Center for Special Dentistry for 1 ½ yr. Jeff had given me an opportunity to work as an assistant at his office. Every single day at Dr. Dorfman’s office has left me a new experience. He has all the specialities in Dentistry under one roof and treats his patients exceptionally good. I would say applying for Internship at Center for Special Dentistry is one of the best choices that I have made so far!! I strongly recommend this program. Good luck!! …RUTH
